Welcome to the Altrata Salesforce app. This guide walks you through everything from initial install to day-to-day use, organized so you can find what you need fast.
How to use this guide:
- Initial Setup: One-time setup. Complete every step in order.
- Optional Configuration: Advanced features you can enable as needed.
- Using the App: Day-to-day workflows for end users.
- Ongoing Maintenance & Getting Help: Reference material for admins.
Each section is tagged so you know what to expect:
đ´ Critical â Skipping or misconfiguring this will cause real problems (data loss, broken matches, failed migrations).
đĄ Required â Must be completed for the app to work, but failure is recoverable.
đĸ Recommended â Best practice; not strictly required.
âĒ Optional â Use only if it fits your workflow.
Salesforce Core vs. Salesforce Advanced
Altrata offers two product tiers. Confirm which one your organization has licensed before configuring.
Salesforce Core (read-only)
Full access to Altrata functionality inside Salesforce, but Altrata data is not written back into Salesforce fields. That means:
- Altrata data cannot be used in Salesforce reports, dashboards, or Flows
- Custom objects are not populated
- Data Controls are not available
Everything else works as expected: bulk matching, Match Management, Pathfinder, matching filters, Profile Requests, Advanced Search, and full profile viewing.
Salesforce Advanced (read/write)
Includes everything in Core, plus:
- Altrata data is written into Salesforce custom objects
- Reporting and automation on Altrata data is possible
- Admin-configured Data Controls are available
To upgrade from Core to Advanced, contact your Altrata Account Manager or Customer Success Manager.
Prerequisites
Before installing, confirm all of the following:
- A Salesforce administrator with permission to install managed packages
- An active subscription to the Altrata Salesforce managed package
- Active Altrata service credentials (username, password, and API key) â these arrive via separate emails
- The installation link for the managed package
- A Salesforce instance using Lead, Contact, and/or Person Account object types
- Verify the amount of space available within your Salesforce instance! If you do not have sufficient space available, you may not be able to install the managed package. Review Storage Requirements in Salesforceīģŋ
âšī¸ The Salesforce Individual object type is not currently supported.
